  • Russian casino finds neutral ground
    (Russia).- A cruise ship has begun selling tickets in Russia for regular trips from St. Petersburg to Helsinki that will allow the company to get around Russians laws banning gambling on most of its territory. Propeller The Princess Maria cruise ship, acquired by line operator St. Peter Line, will operate a casino on the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea, reports Business FM.
  • Uruguay: The new Director of Casinos del Estado assumed his position
    (Uruguay).- In a ceremony held in the first floor of the Ministry of Economy and Finances (MEF), Javier Cha assumed formally as national director of Casinos. Authorities of the mentioned ministry, as well as legislators and other members of the executive, together with officers and leaders of the entity, attended the event.
  • Ireland could reap 8,000-job online casino windfall
    (Ireland).- As many as 8,000 jobs and potentially more could be created in Ireland by online casino companies if crucial legislation regulating online gaming is passed at the end of March. Sources say politicians are on the cusp of voting in long-awaited legislation that would create a regulatory system that would be instrumental in attracting such firms.
